Administration
The district has 3 Revenue divisions at Sangareddy, Medak and Siddipet with 46 Mandals.
The Joint Director (AH) is the administrative head of the dist. The entire district is divided into (4) divisions comprising of (46) Revenue Mandals and each division is managed by Asst. Director (AH) i.e., at Zaheerabad, Siddipet, Sangareddy and Narsapur.

7. Andhra Pradesh Livestock Development Agency (APLDA)
Under the Scheme a Gopalamitra will be selected for 2 to 3 cluster villages where 1000 to 1200 Breedable population is available. This unemployed youth will be subjected for 4 months training in Artificial Insemination, first aid and Vaccination, So far 120 Gopalamitra were trained but at present 65 are working in the District.
8. Foot and Mouth Disease Control Programme (FMDCP )
Under this programme total cattle population is vaccinated against Foot and Mouth Disease on free of cost at every six months period to make the Medak FMD Disease free District. So far 9th rounds were completed.10th round started May and June 2010.
9. Fodder Seed Supply
Supply of Fodder seed on 75% subsidy under Normal State Plan SSG-898 Fodder seed 7.35 Mts, PC-23, 2.00 Mts, Maize 1.20 Mts and Cowpea 0.31 Mts, Total 10.867 Mts in worth of Rs. 2,47,645/- was supplied to the field under regular budget. In Drought situation S.S.G-898 fodder seed variety about 192 Mts supplied in the district.
10. Mobile Veterinary Clinic (MVC)
During 2004-2005 one Mobile Veterinary Clinic started at Narayankhed and 2005-2006 another Mobile Veterinary Clinic was started at Zaheerabad to cater the Veterinary needs of nook and corner villages.
11. Mass Sheep and Goat Deworming Programme
Under this programme 11.32 lakh of Sheep and 4.89 lakh of Goats are dewormed twice a calendar year during January 2010 and June 2010 for free of cost.
12. Fertility Camps
Under the Programme Fertility Camps are being conducted in all the Institutions regularly during breeding season. Also during 2009-2010 M/s Alkabeer and M/s Allanna have came forward to organize 310 Free Fertility Camps.
13. Sheep Insurance
This programme was started during July 2006 and is being continued, So far 157585 Sheep were insured with United India Insurance Company, Sangareddy. 12482 Sheep died out of which 8371 claims were settled remaining cases are under consideration of Insurance Company.
14. Integrated Livestock Development Centers ( ILD )
To cover Artificial Insemination where existing Government Institutions are not serving, 64 ILD Centers are selected during 2007-08 under J.K Trust Gram Vikas Yojana. This project will continued for 5 years for Breed Improvement.
15. Prime Minister Package
During 2008-2009 under Prime Minister Package 670 Beneficiaries were given Milch Animals on 50% subsidy with an outlay of Rs. 2.34 Crores.
Similarly during the year 2009-2010 till March 2010, 1545 Milch Animals were supplied with an amount of Rs. 5.40 corers.
16. Chief Minister Package
During 2008-2009 under Chief Minister Package 1752 Milch Animals were supplied to beneficiaries on 50% subsidy with an outlay of Rs. 6.13 Crores.
Similarly during the year 2009-2010 till March 2010, 293 Milch Animals were supplied with an amount of Rs. 1.02 Crores.
17. Rastriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY)
During 2009-2010 under RKVY 460 Milch Animals were supplied to beneficiaries on 50% subsidy with an outlay of Rs. 1.61 Crores.
18. Milch Animals
During 2009-2010 under Other Schemes 189 Milch Animals were supplied to beneficiaries on 50% subsidy with an outlay of Rs. 66.15 lakhs
19. Chief Minister Jeeva Kranthi Pathakam
During 2008-2009 under Chief Minister Jeeva Kranthi Pathakam 2396 Breeding Rams were supplied on 50% subsidy and 2009-2010, 24 Ram Lamb Units 34 Goat Units and 29 Sheep Units were supplied on 50% subsidy.
20. Kendriya Bhed Palak Bheema Yojana
Under this programme 980 Shepherds were insured in Kendriya Bhed Palak Bheema Yojana. Under this scheme 19 to 59 age are eligible and each shepherd pay Rs. 80/- per year. If Natural death occurred Rs.60,000/- and Accidental death occurred Rs.1.50 lakhs, If partial loss of organ in body will bet Rs.75,000/-. And the two children of the insured person will get Rs.100/- per month those who are studying in 9th class to Intermediate.
21. Exgratia for Shepherd
Government have given Rs. 1.00 lakh as exgratia to Shepherd who will died accidentally during grazing of Sheep in the field.
